Twenty Questions for Ocean House People

In this week's update, we encourage anyone interested in the history
and restoration of the Ocean House to look at the following questions
and select one or more to respond to in your own words. The more
specific you can be, the better. Thanks.
1. What is your first thought and/or image when you think "Ocean
House?" Explain.
2. What is your favorite memory of the OH? Explain.
3. What area ( beach; dining room; bar; bingo room; hotel room;
etc.) of the place is the most important to you and why?
4. What person or group of people associated with the hotel are
you most fond of and why?
5. Do you have any funny stories or anecdotes about the Ocean House
to share?
6. Have you ever worked there? In what capacity?
7. Has anyone in your family or group of friends worked there? Explain.
8. Explain specifically what it was like to work at the hotel. Use
an average day, for starters.
9. How far ranging do you think the reputation of the Ocean House
is? Why?
10. How is the Ocean House different from any other hotel you have
stayed in?
11. How important do you think the location of the hotel is? Why?
12. Any idea why the Ocean House survived all the hurricanes and
fires that killed off the other grand hotels on the Watch Hill bluff?
13. Is there any song that reminds you of the Ocean House? Why?
14. Have you ever had a romantic encounter at the hotel? Explain.
15. Can you think of any couple that began a long term relationship
there?
16. Can you think of any couple that ended a long term relationship
there?
17. If you had the resources, what would you do to "save the
Ocean House?" Be specific.
18. Why do you think it appears that so many people of varying backgrounds
and communities are united in the effort to "save" the
hotel?
19. Are you one of the thunder storm aficionados who came to the
Ocean House to watch thunder storms? Describe the sights, sounds
and impressions in specific detail.
20. If you have ever seen the Ocean House from a boat, describe
the view of the hotel standing out majestically from the water's
edge and the feeling you had.
